Jakarta - Indonesia government on Monday decided that it will give free entry visa facilities to citizen of Kazakhstan and Macau on Monday, 11 May 2026 and has been analyzing possibility to give the same treatment to the people of Australia, India, Japan, South Korea and New Zealand.

For Australia, Indonesia also considers those who are holding permanent resident to get visa on arrival (VOA) facility.

The consideration and decision to grant free entry visa to more countries in order to improve state income, such as from trade and tourism sectors, however security and other factors must be analysis carefully. Besides, reciprocal factor is one of factors to be considered.

The decision to grant 30 days free entry visa to the citizen of Kazakhstan and Macau was taken in a government coordinating meeting, led by the Coordinating Ministry for Justice, Human Rights, Immigration, and Penitentiary Affairs, including Immigration Ministry, Foreign Affairs Ministry, and Tourism Ministry.

Kazakhstan since September 2019 has been giving 30 days of free entry visa for Indonesians.

Meanwhile, before Covid-19 pandemic, Indonesia had given free entry visa facility to the citizen of  Macau and revoked it when the pandemic occurred. To enter Macau, Indonesians do not need visa for 30 days.
