Jakarta - After 45 days leading Indonesia's National Nutrition Agency (BGN), Nanik Sudaryati Deyang filed her resignation letter to President Prabowo Subianto on Wednesday, 22 July 2026 with official reason was health condition, in the midst of ongoing graft case linked to the agency and her name was mentioned.
The BGN is handed one of President Prabowo's priority programs the Free Nutritious Meal (MBG).Nanik took over the post as the chief of the agency after the president fired its three leaders - Dadan Hindrayana, Sony Sonjaya, Lodewyk Pusung - on 2 June 2026.
The following day, the BGN office was raided by law enforcers from the Attorney General's Office (AGO) and later Dadan, Sony, Lodewyk were detained and named suspects on graft case linked to the agency related to the MBG program.
When Dadan was the chief of the BGN, Nanik, Sony, and Lodewyk were his deputies. Following Dadan, Sony, and Lodewyk arrests and named as suspects in graft case linked to BGN's MBG projects, Nanik's name appeared during investigation.
In his testimony during an interrogation session in June, retired police general Sony Sonjaya told AGO's interrogators that Nanik changed the names of at least three foundations, established by her, legitimating them to handle MBG's kitchens or known as SPPG in different locations.
However, Nanik said her resignation is due to her heart disease, therefore, she need to focus on taking medical care and decided to withdraw from her position as the BGN chief.
She announced her resignation through her Facebook account, saying:"I convey to the president as well as thousands of apology that it seems I have to resign as the chief of the BGN for the sake of my health".
Nanik is a loyalist of President Prabowo as she reiterated in her Facebook announcement.
