Moscow - Rusia is ready to assist a peaceful solution measure based on international law for United States, Israel and Iran's war, launched on Saturday, 28 February 2026, Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov told his Iranian counterpart Abbas Araghchi during a telephone conversation.
The phone conversation between Minister Lavrov and Minister Araghchi was mentioned by Russian Foreign Ministry through its website on Saturday, saying Russia's view the need for US and Israel to stop attacking Iran.
"Sergey Lavrov stressed Russia’s readiness to assist in seeking peaceful solution based in international law, mutual respect and balance of interests," the ministry said in its statement.
Moreover, Lavrov during the talk emphasized the plan to convene an urgent meeting of the United Nations (UN) Security Council to deliver an objective assessment of the "irresponsible actions" by the US-Israel aggressive action against Iran.
"The international community, including the leadership of the UN and the IAEA, must urgently deliver an objective and unbiased assessment of these irresponsible actions, which are aimed at undermining peace, stability, and security in the Middle East," it stated, referring to the International Atomic Energy Agency.
