Riyadh - Saudi Arabia's Foreign Ministry on Saturday, 21 March 2026 issued a statement, condemning Iran's attacks to its territory and declaring personae non gratae to five Iranian diplomats, including defense attache, urging them to leave the country within 24 hours.

In recent days Iran kept launching its attacks at the territory of member states of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), and some other Arab countries as well as Islamic states. On Saturday, Iran has been intensifying its attacks against Israel and its neighboring countries in West Asia region, including Iraq and United Arab Emirates.

Iran has said it strikes to countries linked to United States and Israel as revenge actions following US-Israel joint military operations, killed a number of its top security figures recently as well as targeting the Persian nation's nuclear infrastructure.

"The Ministry of Foreign Affairs renews the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's unequivocal condemnation of the blatant Iranian attacks against the Kingdom, the states of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), and a number of Arab and Islamic countries," the ministry said in a written statement.

GCC member states are Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE.

Saudi Arabia highlighted that Iran attacks to multiple aspects of the kingdom against international law and a new UN Security Council Resolution on Iran in 2026.

"It also contradicts the principles of Islamic brotherhood and the values and tenets of the Islamic faith that the Iranian side continuously invokes," the ministry said.

Pesonae non gratae for Iranian diplomats

Due to Iran's continuously attacks, Saudi Arabia has given notification to five diplomats from Iranian Embassy to the Kingdom, asking them to leave the country within 24 hours, Foreign Ministry said.
