Jakarta - Denon Prawiraatmadja, founder and CEO of Whitesky Group, an Indonesia's airport operator, in a focus group discussion (FGD) in Jakarta on Tuesday, 12 May 2026, saw a potential for the archipelagic country to lead Southeast Asia region's urban air mobility (UAM).

Therefore, Prawiraatmadja in the FGD encouraged  the Intelligent Transport System (ITS) Indonesia, a body that connects academia, government institutions and civil society, to take strategic role in developing UAM in Indonesia and in the region.

According to its website, ITS Indonesia is a member ITS Asia Pacific and ITS World Community.

Speaking as the keynote speaker in the FGD on "Urban Air Mobility - Preparing for The Next Frontier" that was hosted by ITS Indonesia, Prawiraatmadja expressed his perspective, saying that Indonesia has a huge opportunity to become one of main players in developing UAM ecosystem in Southeast Asia region, especially with the support of strong cross-sectors collaboration.

"By having Indonesia's geographic characteristics and expanding need of mobility, opportunity to develop Urban Air Mobility is very large. The challenge now is how to build integrated ecosystem and ready to develop it in the long term," Denon Prawiraatmadja said.

Whitesky as the operator of Halim Perdanakusuma Airport in Jakarta has been developing UAM vision that is according to Prawiraatmadja in harmony with ITS Indonesia's intelligent transport system concept.

"In the future, the transport system cannot work separately. It must be connected, so the people mobility is going to be more efficient and adaptive," Prawiraatmadja added.

Speaking directly to President of ITS Indonesia William P. Sabandar, Prawiraatmadja believed ITS Indonesia will be able to become one of important power in winning UAM regional market.***(ITS Indonesia hosts an FGD on
